Default Population On P1999

Hi All!

I want to congratulate Nilbog on creating p1999 server and Rogean/GM/Devs for making such a great server. It really takes me back 10 years ago when i started EQ pre-kunark. It was addicting before but its even more addicting now!

I do have a question though, it seems that p1999 is taking on a lot more people even though its only 7 months old? Correct me if i am wrong on that, but i heard it that it has over 2000 unique players? If that's the case, that's amazing! Is there a chance of creating another server if the server becomes to populated?

From the sounds of things the new server that rogean set up after the DDoS attack can handle a huge(2000?) number of players online at once with minimal lag

I believe the 2000 mark was on all EQEMU Servers at one time.

I'm certain there are probably more than 2000 active players on P99. The highest number of people online at the same time is around 730ish so far, and avarages around 600-650 on most nights (US peak hours). Back on live in 1999 you'd have at least twice that, depending on your server, so before that happens I don't see a split coming, and I don't think it will be soon either.

I have to second the OP's comment and congratulate and thank all the hard-working Devs and GMs that helped get P99 where it is now and keep it going strong.

If I spent half as much time playing as forum-ing, I'd be 50 by now.

i think with the influx with new players such as myself, wouldn't it be very hard to find mobs to kill when you get later into the game? I do forget but i believe there are only sol b and guk for lvl 40+ right? I am just afraid that once everyone hits that lvl, the game will take a turn for the worst where people will start stealing mobs and not respecting a grp's camp. Grps might even start camping in the hallways!

Thanks guys.

The max concurrent players for p99 reached 776 last night.

We have way more than 2000 players.. just not all online at the same time.

Well sure. In the event it is popular enough to have THAT many people, we'll do something. Until then, I believe it unwise to split the playerbase up for any reason.

Ah.. brought back some great Lower Guk memories. When each and every room was camped.

The population is definitely going in the right direction and it's directly attributed to you and the team creating such a great environment here. It really is like 1999 EQ.

LGuk scared me...still does for that matter. I only ever went in there for my chanter epic and there were many many many solo moments of terror.

LOL. I remember hating LGuk when I first was introduced to it. I always got lost. But after learning the zone I learned to love it like most people.
