Game Mechanics: Swimming death

I've died multiple times with my head above water from swimming for long periods of time. In live you could swim in a corner till max skill without problems.

You tabbed out didn't you? I noticed when doing this if I tabbed out, I would almost drown because my character would face down.

Do this... hold down left + forward so your character goes in a circle... then hit "enter" to start typing ... leave it there and your character will swim in a circle without having to go under or hit a corner.

You can just num lock swim in a corner. It will go fine for hours, but then I always catch it suddenly taking drowning damage. Sad thing is I do it in shallow water that I can't even drop under in. Not really sure what suddenly makes it go from fine to dead, but I'll try that.
