EQemu Launcher Problems

Just need some help or thoughts before I just blow out EQ completely and start over.
OS: Win7 Premium 64bit

Running EQemu Launcher which opens normally.
I get:

EQEmuLauncher - V1.24 http://moestaverne.com
An unofficial EQEmulator Launcher
Loading config...
Checking for updates
Loading serverlist ...
Error while retrieving newest version.
Could not reach webserver. Trying again in 10 seconds.
Could not reach webserver. Trying again in 10 seconds.
Could not reach webserver. Trying again in 10 seconds.
etc....

And it just keeps retrying. Any thoughts?

At least its just not me!

I did a bit of reading from the EQEmu site, confirmed I have the port open for the game to update on my router, shouldn't be an issue on my end.

Is there a way to launch the game to the P99 server without going through EQEmu?

Right click "Refresh" and you'll have the option to. When I do this though, I load up to character select with a spell file out of date. I was just playing before this >.>

Didn't work.

Used a different option.

Look up under options on the EQEmu and look for the Exe Path.
Mine was pointed to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe - Shortcut.lnk

Went to that shortcut and launched it, I am currently in game playing as normal.

when this message comes, moestaverne.com is not available, in 99% of the cases due to some DDoSing scriptkiddies..
the eqemulauncher works exclusive with the httprotokoll, meaning if your browser works, chances are high your launcher will work too (as long as moestaverne.com is not down, or in additional the p99 serverfilelist is available, since p99 has its own serverfilelist)
