Default Guide/GM/Dev/ect as players question

This is not an attempt to qq or flame, i am curious what power the staff has who actually play. I am sure there are safe guards put in to not allow easy # leveling and gearing but what about a Dev being able to check on raid on a raid targets spawn time, getting privy to upcoming changes that the rest of the population might not know until patch notes. Most things might be irrelevant but eq at the high end is about competition and having a Dev who can possibly check database for questions about spawn rate, drop rate, spawn timer would give a huge advanatage

I don't think GM-like authorities are allowed to play as regular players. Conflict of interest and all that jazz.

I doubt that. By asking everyone else who doesn't know, you will summon people that will definitely qq, flame and cry.

Everyone should be aware there is a gigantic difference between developers and 'staff'. Developers, aside from Rogean and myself have no in game power, whatsoever. Checking spawn time, nope, that happens on the running live database. Aside from Rogean and myself, no one can see the server's running db. As far as patch notes.. read the bug threads. Look at our name, find all posts.

GM's are not allowed to play on the server and like nilbog just said the developers have no powers in game. If you wanna know the spawn timer on a raid target just take the time that you downed it like Nihilum does problem fixed they don't have any unfair advantage of knowing spawn timer.

I'm sure Rogean has addressed this that only a few very select people have direct access to the database where this information would be available.

Most certainly they do have access to this type of information, since they are at least partly responsible for implementing said changes.

We must believe that responsible and respectable individuals, who would not take advantage of insider knowledge, who genuinely care about the community as a whole, and who hold integrity as a personal trait, are guiding the reigns of this operation.

I wasnt asking for a spawn timer. The question was do they have access to being able to check stuff like that. I believe you could see the issue if they did have access to stuff like. I do not think you could argue if that a Dev/GM/ect who had access to stuff like that would not give them and their friends an advantage but thankfully Nilbog was able to answer the question and explain that beside him and Rogean they do not have access. Also was not accusing nihilum or saying they had an unfair advantage. I wanted to know the answer to the question I asked and got an answer that I am pleased to hear.

If you're asking a question only management or staff would know, send a PM...

To expand upon this, any developer which would be able to play can't see the patch notes of full developers until everyone else does. Separate areas.
