Default Starting armors? Crafting?

Hi, I'm a first time poster (obviously) but not a first time EQ player. I played right before Luclin came out and stuck with it for four years. I'm asking this question because I always remembered hailing the GM NPC (and accidentally pressing A thus getting one shotted said NPC) and getting up to the line where i would have to forge out and collect stuff to make starting armor. At first I didn't know what to do back then, but after making multiple characters it was the first thing I did. So does this server have that quest line taken out?

I ask because when i made my half-elf paladin, I didn't see the line to ask about it from the paladin GM. Also, speaking of crafting, is the crafting different on here than the live servers? If it is, is there a guide? I remember doing some alcohol crafting, but that was back in 2004!

Any kind of answers are appreciated and hope to see people in-game. Name is Blahl [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

the newbie armor sets are not in game, and won't be for the server's projected timeline.

A quest to get armor? As a newbie? What the hell has EQ Live become?!

Have fun paladining in leather jammy jams until you're level 20 if you're just starting out.

basically you got a mini forge, molds and told to go out in the wild and start hacking up mobs. I still had to write it all down in a notebook.

Yeah, I enjoyed those quests when I rolled an alt or 2 in the latter part of my EQ days... but you will get banded/bronze at best til level 30ish, and you will like it!

Unrest. Can pick up a set of small bronze in your early 20s.

Check out the wiki -, make metal bits to begin with, graduating to lanterns. The wiki isn't the greatest but it's not too bad.
