Can't go past character select screen : /

Hey guys,
Sorry if this has been addressed but I didn't find the answer. I log in with my credentials through my shortcut to eq. Instead of seeing my Character, I see: "Your Spell file is out of date. please visit p1999.org and get the latest file..." Errorcode SP-1.

I can't do a whole lot other than quit after that. I dont use the eqemu launcher cause it says it can't connect to server but i know that updated files in the past. Thanks!
