New PvP Team Server

I don't know about all of you but I am quite excited. I am looking forward to it being a PvP team server. I hope the server will be successful. I think the most important thing to happen is to make the server less likely to be a griefer haven. This is what happened when Red99 was released.


Some good ideas I really enjoyed:

Teams by Race - Yes it limits classes but I think it was great
Teams - 3
Level Range - 4 level range sounds great
XP Group Bonus - I would love this, would encourage grouping which is what EQ is about. I have always thought grouping should be faster xp than solo. Overall PvP is more difficult, I think the leveling experience should be x4 - x8 faster than P99.

They were talking about item loot, maybe they should make items only lootable on Pkers. Once a players initiates 10 fights in a row, they become lootable one item from slots bags whatever. Their name color should change color as well so people know. This would wear off when player is logged on for a certain amount of time.

Of course there is people. Reason why R99 is not popular is because it sux! Team pvp is alot, ALOT more fun and many players will like it lots more than just hackin everything in FFA. I see it can grow very popular.

But don't give us xp bonus. Its not classic and only casuals/kids want it. Normal xp rate is a no brainer.

Will they start new server fresh or merge with a current server? I think teams are great, but if it merges I wonder how teams will actually work.

Teams will be a fresh server, and criticism for it being made is 99% "I don't like it because I want a new blue server".... which really would hurt the current server and shouldn't happen.

Not many would weep for the downfall of red, but I've invested a good amount of time there and would be very mad/sad if it went.

Merge current red into current blue. The 70 people who play there exclusively will rage a little bit, and either continue to play their toons on blue, or will start fresh on the new team pvp server.

Should just remake the current one into teams. More would play it. People like the idea of cooperation. And more importantly some idea of support. Team sports will always be more popular overall.

Teams is on the back burner at the moment anyway, but if it is released there's all kinds of possibilities about merging and options there. Probably best to wait til Velious is released before speculating any further [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
