That means he hasnt logged on since he died.

Shouldn't matter to much. Corpses rot so the world is not covered in old corpses. A gm will summon a poofed corpse back for you if it has been a resonable amount of time I believe.

Funny you mention that. I died early Dec and logged in recently and petitioned to get my corpse back. Eunomia informed me that I had no rotted corpses. However, I did have a corpse in HS, with 3 almost 3 hours left on the rez timer.
