Default EQ2 Time Locked Progression Servers

What's happening!? - We're getting progression servers, sort of like EQ1. It isn't full on 'progression' because a lot of modern changes still exist. They are tweaking numbers and mechanics to feel more old school. It starts with the base game, and after the server majority votes on it, the game progresses to the next expansion. Many expansion-locked features are gated behind those expansions.

Here's the actual official FAQ/Announcements:

When is it happening!? - July 21st of this year. It's a 2 week beta period, which is super short, but maybe it will be good.

Great! How do I do it? - Sub and make a character on the new PVE or PVP server. Yes, you need a sub. Sorry. 15 bucks for the month. Slam less ham and play video gam.

Well, how do they decide when to move on to the next expansion? - Quote from Roshen: "Players will have the option to vote to unlock content every 30-days. The voting period will last a week, and if the server votes not to unlock the next expansion, the vote will start again after 30-days.

If the server chooses not to unlock content three times in a row, the votes for the next expansion will change to 90-days in-between votes. This will reset back to 30-days in-between votes after an expansion is successfully unlocked on your server.

Players must be within 20 levels of current content cap to be eligible to vote."
