Negligently enabled PVP flag...can it be turned off?

I didn't read very well and mistakenly activated my PVP flag. Is there a way to have that disabled by a GM in game? I have submitted a petition, but am not sure just how well that process works.

I would really rather not start my character over, but don't want to go thru life with PVP enabled either.

Any tips?

Did you hand in the book to the priest of discord? That's your problem if your tag is red.

this, find a wizard level 57+ and have him port/evac you.
