Login Issue

Trying to get my friend into the game, he can make it all the way to the login screen but when he puts in his information the game goes to a blank screen for a few seconds then just pops up back to the login screen prompting him to put in his login information. If he puts in the wrong information he gets the standard invalid username/password. He has tried using my account info as well and the same thing happened. When I used his information on my client I was able to login just fine and create a character. I have tried everything I could think of and am at a loss. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.


Side note: he tried to SMS verify but never got it but I am aware that the system is down at the time of this thread. Also I myself made a new account with a new email and everything on a different PC to try and see if I could replicate the issue but I never received the verification email. checked spam folder as well and there was nothing in there.
