Blizzard Mistake Obliterates Diablo 3 Economy
If you thought Diablo 3's in game economy was having trouble before.... Just wait until you hear this...
On Tuesday, Blizzard rolled out patch 1.08 which, among other things, increased the amount of gold you could put up on the Auction house to 10 million. While that in itself reduced the ever dropping value of gold, it also contained a bug that if players were to list 10 million and remove it they actual received double the amount back. Once this got out players went crazy duplicating trillions of gold, buying out high priced item and drastically driving up prices in general.
Blizzard in an attempt to contain the situation has disabled the Auction House so that all current auctions can expire and they can begin to sort this out. The problem with that is, anyone who listed an item with low bid to attract bidders is going to lose that item for MUCH lower that they should since no one can place any bids currently.
To recap, blizzard has annihilated the D3 economy and Hell is breaking loose (couldn't resist the pun) on the Diablo 3 Forums. See you guys in Path of Exile.
