Need motivation to play on Red.

I want so bad to play on the PvP server (because PvP and Everquest are like my two favorite things in the world) but I'm intimidated by the fact that Blue server almost usually has 8-9 times the amount of players that Red has. On Blue I can /w nearly any zone and find some players, but on Red, I've been in East Commons and Freeport and even Sro by myself for hours without seeing a single soul.
