Shaman Epic

So I'm trying to understand the Shaman Epic. I am going to turn it in on my Druid who is max faction *meaning Your faction cannot get any better!* the Child's Tear, and then as my guild is fighting, pop over to my Shaman to loot. When I go to turn in the Scale, do I need to have Max Faction as well?
