Default Starting a Necro Stream

Hey guys, I was leveling a cleric but decided to give necromancer a try. My stream will mostly be morning and day time. Come hang out from work or whatever.

One guy already did this but his commentary is so boring and base that I feel like I'm slamming my head into a television repeatedly listening to it. And then if I mute it its plainly obvious that he is only a mediocre necro taboot. If you're going to twitch, make sure to either have some reasonable commentary or stay quiet.

I still don't understand the draw to twitch/streaming. Unless you're doing some interesting content (raiding) etc. How is it more enticing than watching golf?

yet people still watch golf by the millions so what exactly is your point Andervin? You clearly do not like watching it, so dont. But plenty of people do

Sometimes I watch streams when I can't be playing or when I'm at a camp with lots of downtime.

I like to watch it to see how different people play. For instance I saw how much better the HD graphics are today and got into a nice debate about dual weilding pets.

Turns out the pets will hold 2 weapons before they should but they dont attack with both until the proper level.

a lot of people (myself included) stream to bring new players to the server, and let them know via another medium that classic EQ is out there and waiting for them. its an easy way to find those people, tell them about the project, and answer any questions they may have about getting started. i have already spoken to easily near 100 people that have found P99 and started playing because of the streams (ive also spoken to players that played years ago, back in the 2boxing / global ooc days of P99, and seeing how much better the server has gotten in 3 years has encouraged some of them to return).

most existing players don't watch p99 streams unless 1) you're streaming unique content, or provide very very entertaining commentary, 2)they can't log in the game for whatever reason but need an EQ fix, 3) they enjoy the chatroom during their downtime/medbreaks.

TLDR - dont hate things that bring people to the server

whoa, ya learn something new every day. i never realized 2boxing was allowed here at one point in time.

i do think it is a good rule, but out of curiosity -- at the time, what was the reasoning behind the boxing ban? any big events in particular, or just general meh?

sorry for getting OT, that just really sparked my interest [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

It's a social thing, people chat with the host and each other. And sometimes the host invites the people watching to come join their group or even gives out their vent server so the people watching can get on and chat. It isn't about watching someone play EQ, it's about having a good time with EQ players.
