![]() My son wants an Xbox at my house for his 13th birthday. The X already has one at her house and he loves playing Minecraft among other things on it.
I do have a Ps3 that he likes, but he really wants the XBox over at my house too. So, do I get the older XBox 360 or do I get the new Xbox one? If I do get the newer XBox one, does it play older games? What are the other differences besides price and the HD? Any and all help is appreciated --- Thanks!

![]() For your 13 year old kid, and from what it sounds like he likes, I'd definitely say save you some money and time by buying a 360.

![]() I did a good bit of research into which console to buy in preparation for the Black friday sale.
I'd suggest going with the Xbox 360. The Xbox one is 3/4 Media center and 1/4 gaming. If you already have other consoles that have Netflix, Hulu, etc capability then a lot of what the Xbox one offers is wasted. The Xbox one is NOT backwards compatible. If you do a google search for it you'll hear about the prank played on Xbox one owners who bricked their unit trying to turn on backwards compatibility. You missed the awesome sale on black Friday ($99 Xbox 360 4g) but you should be able to find one with the holiday prices. The Kinect bundle with 2 Kinect games is $250 if you like the Kinect. I'd highly recommend buying new. The latest Xbox 360 model has better cooling and no RRoD issues. Although I'm sure there will be a ton of people selling their old Xboxes due to the new generation being out.

![]() I really wouldn't touch the next gen consoles until they've weeded out and flaws with wiring, cooling, and other stuff. There's also not really enough titles to really be able to enjoy them yet.
Personally I wouldn't go near the Xbox One with the Kinect as it has facial recognition... some lines aren't meant to be crossed. Stop spying on us etc, /tinfoil

![]() Is it fairly easy to get a larger HD for the 4G version? I am hearing they run out of space quick.

![]() It's possible to use 3rd party 250gb or 320gb hard drives in the xbox. But it won't accept drivers larger than those two sizes.
http://gizmodo.com/231670/install-we...-your-xbox-360 Here's a link to an official 320gb HD for Xbox360 but the price is steep in my opinion. http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-320GB.../dp/B005PSTV2K Seeing as 320gb laptop hard drives are only $50 I'd rather buy a 3rd party drive and hook it up.

![]() Go xbox 360. No need to spend that much on something unless it's the PS4. 360 can do everything that a kid his age would like to do.

![]() Get him a machine gun and army field manual, tell him that's his present and you want him to strip it down to parts and put it back together in under 30 seconds.
