Default Can I MQ to myself?

Can I hand in half, camp out, log in alt and hand in the rest?

I've always wondered, do MQs have a hand-in timer?

I know that Sakuragi was doing a MQ for monk epic and handed in the first part, and he received the monk epic. Oops.

I once received a SoulFire instead of the customer to whom I was selling the SoulFire MQ. I think this happened to Jygia once or twice, as well. This made for immediate laughs in guildchat since everyone saw Hayle's shout.

This won't work with our implementation.
I never tried the "water flask" clearing technique, but one thing I started doing for the last MQs I sold was to simply kill Brother Hayle and then do the MQ when he respawned. Of course, not all quest NPCs are so easily killed. And I've been told that killing a quest NPC still won't clear their "turn-in" table. I never accidentally received a SoulFire once I started killing Hayle, but this doesn't prove it one way or the other.

It is possible for turned in items to persist through an npc death as well. It depends on the script, and if those variables are cleared in the spawn script (Could vary among mobs).

I am uncertain if they have a timer. I vaguely remember it was old practice that before any turn in, you'd hand in 4 Water Flasks to "clear" the mob's inventory list before doing any major turn in of your own.

Thanks for the clarification.

So the implementation on Project 1999 works differently, and therefore any conclusions we can draw about the longevity of MQ turn ins based on the fact that people used to need to do the water flask cleaning trick are not particularly valid to the server.

The question would then be whether the implementation on Project 1999 altered the longevity of the items remaining on the mob from what it would have been when the water flasks were a needed precaution.

I think this is easy enough to test as players... Just need to find a crap quest that can be MQed.
