Default Iksar Berserker Club and 'an undead jester'

Hey there!

Well, my GF and I camped the spot for over 7 hours with only 1 jester spawn, and of course no club.

I figured, "oh good ol' EQ!".

However, a friend of mine (Fudily) has been on the spot (and still is as I type this) for about 27 hours. He has seen a single jester spawn, and of course no club.

To be exact, I'm speaking of the weapon 'Iksar Berserker Club' from the mob 'an undead jester' in the zone 'Kurn's Tower'.

We're both EQ live veterans and know camps can be tough, but this seems off. Is the jester really this rare of a spawn?

I have seen people link clubs in Kurn's after finally getting one (I know this isn't concrete proof) I've also talked to people that sell the club and camp it in Kurns as well. It's just really rare.

I used to live in there for weeks with my monk on live camping stuff for quests. I'd never seen a single club drop.

I played a rogue on live, and when my time came to finally do my epic run, my luck ran out when I killed General V'Ghera as he didn't have the dagger I needed to turn in (Cazic Quill). I figured, no biggie, I'll do the side-quest involving 4 robes. Three of them were relatively easy to attain (I think the SMR was the most difficult just because it was still fairly decent and thus expensive on our server), but the fourth...Kedge...was something of a living nightmare.

One hundred and seventy six Phinny kills later, I managed to FINALLY get a robe to drop. Drop, not won. Drop. Period. There was a running joke between my friends and I that because we were a little shy on DPS, that he had just enough time to see that it was me and click 'destroy' before we off'd him. One hundred and seventy six times, at a roughly 18-22 hour spawn cycle barring server resets; took me almost an entire year to get the damned thing.

tl;dr - when it comes to camps for decent goods, sometimes you're the dog, other times you're the fire hydrant.

It drops there. It is really rare. If it was common it wouldn't cost so much considering the area is <20. Same goes for Solist's Icy Wand, which I was fortunate enough to loot for myself in live over a decade ago.
