As far as I can tell from the preview they didn't make them aliens, you can hear them ask about if they are and they say no, and it even shows a small clip of the ooze (stuff used to make them). Also I wasn't happy about the selection for April either, Megan fox sucks as an actress and she doesn't even have red hair. But still excited anyways because it is Ninja turtles, and you saw a little preview of Splinter although not sure why he had a sword, I was expecting to see his staff.
