Default State of Rogues Sneak/Hide/Other

Hello, I am rather new around p1999... and I've just begun my life again as a Rogue. I have noticed however a few striking differences between my experience here and on live as a result of Rogue skills. I managed to find a thread from 2010 where others explain having similar issues of Sneak+Hide not working as intended when interacting with corpses, but it seems to me that this bug extends further than that. There have been a number of times that after seeing a success message, Hide+Sneak fails to work on one mob in a group of indifferents, and I find myself being a corpse. It also seems that sneak pulling, or hiding after throwing a weapon (but before the weapon lands) do not work here.

TL/DR (Actual question) = What is the current status of the way Hide and Sneak are working? Does this current status reflect the intended status? Are there other such rogue idiosyncrasies on this server that a new Rogue should be aware of. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Thank you very much! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Sneak pulling works just fine, you just need to make sure the mobs you do not want to aggro have their backs facing you so that sneak is active against them.

Sneak currently does not scale to full run speed at 60.
Mobs with see invis buff or innate see invis ability see through hide+sneak, unless you are in their back cone so sneak takes precedent.
Throwing weapons/arrows do not have a flight time, they hit instantly so you can't really pop hide while your arrow/throwing weapon is en route to the mob.

Just search the bug report section for "hide" or "sneak" and you will see myriad threads about perceived issues at the moment with both abilities.

Thank you Ele! I've been reading all day and seen quite a few of your posts on the issue hahaha. It's hard to keep track of each post and when it was posted. I even saw a post where the functionality had been reverted to what it was at some point, but just couldn't pinpoint where we currently stood.

Any idea why I got ownt in Unrest and Befallen while sneak/hiding? Is the corpse-loot-failure still killing hide?

Looting any corpse will break sneak hide. You can reapply while on the body though.

Undead seeing through that hide, last I recall. :\

My 22 rogue can hide/sneak through unrest. Atleast the last time I was playing him they did a few weeks ago.

Aye, it seems I am able to sneak through most of Befallen without problem.. through the locked door, down the hallway to the second floor, through that, to the third floor.. then some random Ghoul will see through, when I just walked past 3 other Ghouls.. and boom.. dead-town.
