LAN issue / can't play on server with roommate

Hi,

My roommate and I wanted to get started on this server but it will only let one of us in at a time (the second player is disconnected immediately). Is it possible to get special permission for my IP or whatever so we can both play?

there is in fact a forum for getting an IP exemption
