![]() Not sure were to post this, but thought I would start here.
I've talked to other people about this and they agree as well. There aren't nearly as many creatures in West Karana and North Karana as there was in the original. I remember there being tons of beetles and griffs. I remember sitting on the road at the West Karana zone line in North Karana in North Karana and going out just a little ways and pulling beetles back and having to watch out for griffs. I go there in Project1999 and there are hardly any to be found. I think East Karana is about right and not sure about South Karana because I haven't really been there on Project1999 yet. But I had spent alot of my druids young life in North Karana kiting beetles and West Karana feels just sooooo emty. This maybe one of the reasons you have so many people gravitating over toward Greater Fay, because the lack of creatures in the Karanas. I played EQ1 since BETA (the original) and have been playing both EQ1 and EQ2 for the last 10+yrs now. I was also a Guide last year for like 6 months. So far the biggest thing I have noticed so far is this. It feels like there are other small things but haven't put my finger on them yet.

![]() Everfrost is definitely the same way, although I did not originally start playing until after Kunark came out so I don't know if it was changed at some point.

![]() I agree , Bump up the spawns in Everfrost , Wk , NK
Even back on Live there were a few more spawns in EFrost, but I always wished there was more. "MAmmoths mostly" What in the hell were they thinking back in 1999 to not add more mobs outdoors?

![]() Agree on this. Also North Karana used to have loads of Grifennes and Griffons on Live. There are almost never any Griffon's or Griffennes up.
I would like to point out that the issue with still many spawns in Karanas (and other zones too) being static, missing pathing/moving info may be part of the issue about too little spawns.. Also notice pathing on P99 is not identical to live. The pathing that exist in many bigger outdoor zones for non named mobs seems totally random created on P99, so if you sit on a specific spot where you know the pathing from Live (eg. a safe spot where you knew nothing would path and agro on live, if you went afk) you may be in for a surprice. I noticed this with Seafury Cyclopses, wich i pretty much knew 95% how they used to path on Live, and spots that used to be safe werent safe at all

![]() If you remember a decent portion of pathing for a classic zone, here's one thing you could do. Take a map of the zone, blow up a portion of it, mark it up, make a google doc out of it, and see if you can get enough of a concensus on the scribbles, or some archived posts to back it up.

![]() Yeah, I have been hunting in everfrost and there are absolutely fewer spawns. Out at the south tower, there should be snow orc mountaineers and shaman, and ice bone skeles but in hunting there several nights, of those three mob types I've seen ONE ice bone and neither of the other two. The one ice bone I've seen is not pathing however. He's stuck in a static position at the base of the little hill I used to sit on to med that's just over the ridge from the south tower. (Just a stones throw from the static spawn spiders that were added in much later). This whole strip from that spot out to the front of the south tower and to just across the river should have these three mob types pathing frequently.
