![]() What error do you get? Did you remember to start the game with the "no patch" flag? I also force it to run on one core only, otherwise animations are glitchy even though the game is playable.
My everquest.sh launcher has these two lines inside: Code:
cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Sony/EverQuest taskset -c 0 padsp wine eqgame.exe patchme

![]() i dont know how to use a launcher or whatever i am extremly new to linux and only using it becuase its required of me for another application. i followed the linux setup instuctions and they worked as of this morning. i have
env WINEPREFIX="/home/xxxx/.wine" taskset -c 0 padsp wine C:\\Sony\\EverQuest\\eqgame patchme in the command section of the everquest wineglass on my desktop. this again was working as it stood this morning and the xxxx are my user name. i just had to want spell particles

![]() the error code i get is on the character select screen and is -1. when i execute your code in a terminal the game runs exactly as it does in my wineglass and exhibits the same error. is there something in linux or wine that is retaining these files im deleteing. i have removed wine entirely and done everything but comepletely reinstall the OS and format all drives to get a working result following exactly the same instruction set. am i missing something ?

![]() Forget I even mentioned a "launcher", the proper name was "shell script". The shell script you're using to start the game is properly set-up, I was wondering if you had the "patchme" flag missing.
Did you download the modified "d3dx9_30.dll" and placed it in the EQ directory already? You mentioned character models missing, my guess is you're using the un-modified dll. A quick google search reveals a link for it: http://mirror.ryansanden.com/EQ_linux/d3dx9_30.dll source of the link: http://www.project1999.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=126081 If that doesn't solve it, tell me what instructions you followed to install the game.

![]() man im already back on win7 lol. couldnt wait for the message screening time on posts, because relapsing adict. but im really more concerned with why following http://www.project1999.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=14125 worked 2 days ago. was working this morning. and then would not work again after removing and atempting to reinstall. im over trying to get eq on linux i just popped another ssd in with win7 on it for eq.
working as in stable and able to play. im begenning to think the dx3d thing was the spell partivcle problem all along and i didnt need to reinstall. but 10+ re installs this morning didnt work so...
