Fantasy Realm Online
Fantasy Realm Online is a sandbox MMO heavily influenced by Ultima Online, it's an indie game with a not-so-huge budget but it still manages to deliver a solid MMO experience and has a ton more potential than most anything out right now.
The playerbase is rather small at the moment due to lack of PR, I had heard about it thru a poster on reddit but I have found that the players I have met are very active and are definitely passionate about the game, as are the developers who are very active in adding content as well as maintaining a regular presence on the forums.
