![]() get lvl 2, buy chords of dissonance, google AoE bard kiting, start circle kiting, get a stringed instrument soon as you can, continue circle kiting, get 18 and switch to better AoE dmg with horn.
become the thing everyone on this server hates, even though they never want to group with you. get high lvl and then everyone will love you because of your resist songs and PL'ing. re-roll another character eventually and be disgusted at how slow the exp is.

![]() Kiles pretty much nailed it ^^ the re-roll should occur around 51-53 when Kiting putters out and you have to start grouping only to find you have no idea now to effectively play a bard in group situations and/or you find the xp pace abysmal or your roll boring beyond reprieve ^^
Alternatively, you could group most of your career, learn to play your class we'll in that setting and koine the half dozen beloved high level bards who know what they are doing *hugs* ^^ Joking aside, I do not have much more advice in the particulars of bardliness.

in all seriousness, i grouped until 10. I then started my kiting. I kited until 30 and now am only grouping until 35, and then will probably kite a bit. I LOVE playing bard in groups, the experience is indeed garbage in comparison but it is so fun playing bard. I love how technical it is and until i played one in a group i didn't realize how difficult it actually was to do correctly. I wish more people wanted us in groups, as I think they add so much to a group. I personally am rather dedicated to becoming a well known group bard that can fill various rolls in a group.... but I am not going to pass up off hours AoE kiting for multiple levels in an hour. Taking a break right now to try and do all of my lambent armor quests and become a good CC'r and puller.

Zons, Just follow Kile's example, remain true to the social nature of your inner bard and do not forsake, but 'ware the path of least resistance least it consume you!

![]() I play a bard and have only kited, successfully 2 times. One at level 10 and one at level 11. I got a couple yellows from it and literally it took a few minutes.
I ONLY group because I like to twist and like the interaction with others. Bards are freaking awesome in groups. I can AE mez a HORRIBLE pull, haste my group while we burn down 1 mob at a time. I can Haste my group, HoT my group, resist and add AC to my group while DoTing a mob and /autoattack with Dual Weld now! Bards are absolutely one of the best classes out there for survivability, versatility and functionality in the EQ world. I've NEVER had an issue getting in to groups. Plus all my skills are constantly updated by each level I gain because of practice. If you level your bard simply by Kiting all your skills will suffer and you'll needs to build them up at far later levels. In my opinion. Group....group a lot with people and they will love you for it. BUT! You will be relied on solely because you have Selos, so that means you pull ALL THE TIME! Even with a druid in group that SoWs the tank, it doesn't matter. You have selos therefore you are responsible for pulling. hehe ---- EDIT: This doesn't answer the original posters question. It's an opinion I believe all bards should consider.

![]() i ont understand why having selo's makes you responsible for pulling? in general you are better off in camp singing mana/heal while someone who can flop off aggro or more consistently split pulls goes off and pulls. In the case that someone can't, you sure can be a fantastic puller but it doesnt really have anything to do with selo's. It is more about being able to lull/slow/mez/etc...
lull a mob, mez a mob, slow a mob, and then the kill mob. You basically pull 4 mobs at 20-25 second intervals depending on camp.

![]() While outside, bards will generally pull because they are the fastest class and people want fast pulls. When I played my ranger if I was grouping outside I would be the puller b/c of track/sow/bow. It was incredibly easy and fast to pull.
You can run super fast and mez on inc if you need to = good fast pulls outside.
