 | Fancy soundcards Havent owned one for a long time. Just relied on the soundchip that comes on the motherboard. There any point in getting a fancy soundcard to play on p99? I wont be setting up surround speakers in the pc room, or dont plan to atmo. WOuld that make a big differnce t eq? AM more interested in the quality of the sound. Probably have 30-44 quid to spend, is that just too low to hear any differnce? DO have a hfi ampi can rig up but atmoi use senheisser headphones to play with. SO whats other folks setup?>

 | A lot of people play with sound off. That is about how much you need a fancy sound card. EQ sound is nothing special. | ||

 | The quality of the sound effects are very primitive, that its almost worse to have a good sound card. I quite often play internet radio or youtube as background music | ||

 | there is a thread somewhere with instructions to install a plugin/codec that simulates old sound cards from 1999-era your idea of buying a new card and expecting it to improve archaic .midi source files that the gaming industry hasn't used in 15 years is quite stupid | ||

 | If your computer can currently play the game sounds you don't need to upgrade and can probably find something much better to spend your quid on. | ||
