Spells: Specialize Evocation bugged for my Wiz.

I am level 60, my specialization evocation is maxed and I get zero spell cost reduction. I have checked with other wizards and it seems to be working for them.

- My wizard is lvl 60, erudite and was created in 2010.
- Specialize Evo is 200 and the rest are 50, as you would expect.
- In the skill window, the "200" shows up in red text?

Can this be fixed? Do I just reset the spec in Temple of Sol Ro? Or do I need to level my wizard all over ... ?

So are you 100% sure you aren't getting the mana preservation? Check with an Ice Comet or Sunstrike. Also check if the non-focused Specialized (those capped at 50) are providing 2.5% Mana pres. And are those ones red?

If either are providing 0 preservation resetting in Sol Ro should be fine.

Chain cast a level 1 Evoc spell to get over 51 again.

Hi there.

I ran tests with Suntrike. It consumes 450 mana for me when cast, and when I checked with another 60 wiz he tested and it only consumed 408 mana for him, which seems right with maxed Specialize Evocation.

I will need to check if those skills capped at 50 are providing any benefit and report back. The "50" for those skills in the skill window do not show in red text, but are white as expected.

Also, I seem to recall some kind of specialization bug back in 2010 but it has been so long I can't recall the details.

Resolved.

Reset my specializations via the Temple of Ro quest and re-leveled Spec Evo. Evocation spells now costing less mana as expected.

I haven't hit the cap of 200 as yet - hopefully the bug will not return once I do.
