Default Magi Questions

I see magi can summon weapons and I'm wondering if there is any benefit to giving the summoned weapons to my pet. If so what level and which weapons are good for the pets to use?

I'm also wondering if anyone has some tips for PVP as a magi since I am on the red server.

Before 44, you have to give your pet two weapons at once to make them dual wield. Other than that, weapons with procs are good If your pet is high enough level and I think stats are given to pet if they're on the weapon.

On Red server they have made a lot of downgrades to the game which hurt your class.

As the poster above indicates, pets should begin to dual wield without any weapons 44+. However on Red server this is never the case and you always have to hand weapons to your pet to allow for dual wielding.

I'd suggest playing on the blue server instead. It's a lot closer to the classic you remember. Until the top end raiding, but both servers top end raiding has veered away from what was classic.

As for weapon type it's irrelevant. Among the weapons you can summon, dagger, fang, spear and sword... All work. Note that the spear is primary only though. Two swords is typically what most players will give their pets.

Pets poof when you zone, so mage is literally the worst PVP class in the game.

I can give you a great tip... Prepare to die. Expect it. Try to find, if you don't already, a set group of friends to play with close in level range. They'll love you for carrying them through pve and they can help you where you lack - PvP.

Thanks for the replies.

I will continue on Red. Perhaps I can find a way to be of use to groups in pvp. I like the server, people are nice and groups are easy to find if you want them. Plus I already have items, plat, and experience moves alot faster.
