Default Good class to duo with a Magician?

Hello friends,

I'm looking for a little guidance on duos.

My buddy wants to duo with me and is playing a magician. I'm looking for some input on which classes would work well with a magician.

I've been mostly considering a druid cause I already have one that's a lower level, but have also been considering strongly a necromancer. Potentially a shaman just because I hear they are great for duos although I'm not terribly keen on another priest class as my only two toons are cleric and druid.

I'm open to other classes if they will work better too.

Any thoughts and input is appreciated.

Thanks.

Necro is a strong partner for a mage. So is a second mage.

If you want something more outside the box, a bard.

It really depends on what kind of duo you're looking to do. If you are going to have your pet tank and get healed, sort of like a traditional duo of melee/healer, you can't beat the Shaman in my mind. Druid would be a decent second and would give you snare and port options.

But for a more "outside the box" approach the necro is a solid choice. You have some variability there and in open spaces you can utilize fear beyond just animals. I've also always been a big believer in Mage + Mage (+Mage!) making a fun and powerful team.

I'm thinking I'm more into the mage/necro style combo. My main is cleric so I'd like to get away from priest class/heals to try something different unless it's not recommended. A lot of people saying necro works well and I'm leaning that way anyway so that's likely where i'll end up.

Just a tad worried about downtime with mana.
