Default Barbarian Paladin

Just a question on if this really happened of if I was dropped on my head to many times as a child; granted I was young when I did play EQ on live, but I seem to remember a specific server that allowed Barbarian's to be Paladin's. It was a RP or PVP server. I just remember seeing a patch that said, "Mithaniel Marr has not turned his back on his children and Barbarian's can now become Paladin's." Or something to that effect.

Ring a bell for anyone else here?

there were basically no class / race restrictions in EQ2.

so that is probably not what the op was referring to in his memory of seeing a patch note somewhere about barbarian pallies.

i don't remember any eq1 barb pallies though.
