Default 75 Agility for tanking

I know the magic number of 75 agility has been passed around, however how important is it to meet this goal? I can see a bump in AC by going from 65-75 AC however it doesn't counteract (obviously) having a fungi as a chest piece I don't feel. Do you actually get hit more often below 75 agility, or is it just a negative point, equivilent to monks weight caps?

If it is something that a tank can't afford to have less than 75 of, what good AC/HP items have agility other than CoF to offset the -10 agi on fungi?

This is all for a paladin mind you. Everything I found online has been somewhat vague as to the importance of this number, but everyone seems to agree that its not something to ignore.

Thanks!

Good question and though I've never actually parsed it, the effect seems to be greater than the nominal loss in AC. Feels like I take more and harder hits.

Maybe Kaev or Pasi can weigh in with a more enlightening response ^^

I feel like I get hit more as well. Judging from when I got an agi buff to when I didn't have one, however I didn't do too much testing. I'm trying to weigh if it's in my best interest to throw some items in to reach 75 agi, or leave my agi where it's at (60) with the fungi equipped. Regardless I feel that the fungi is going to outweigh the negative side effect of getting hit more/loss of AC especially if I can still hit 75 by replacing a few minor slots.

Thanks for the input!

Djarn ring is the only one that is expensive, but you have a fungi so this probably won't be a problem. From you agi of 60 with fungi you are either dwarf or erudite which means you can wear all of the above. Any 3 of the above will put you at 75+. Or even just the ring and neck, or ring and shoulders.

Oh, you also run slower when below 75 agi.

Is something cheap to pick up if you're struggling with it initially.

Your ac goes down for every point of negative agility. It's better to keep it above imo. I feel like you get more max damage hits. I don't know the exact formula or anything, just know that you lose quite a bit of ac per negative point. If it's result of a fungi, I would just wear an item to get it out of the red.

Djarn Ring / Drolvarg Mantle look like excellent choices to go from 60-75 on the dot. You're right on the head about being a dwarf. Thanks for the great suggestions.

I'm still curious about the exact math of being below 75 agility however in regards to getting hit more / for max damage more often.

As far as AC goes that makes sense, but it doesn't really touch on having under 75 agility. How big of an impact on avoidance does it have, if any? If I jumped from 60-75 agi, with equal AC on the replacement gear, would it make a huge difference? Would it even be worth sacrificing some AC to get more agility?
