So... BFG

So those of us with BFGs had them removed. There was no refund of Wing/Rope as was stated by Rogean:

[Sun Aug 09 16:32:32 2015] Rogean BROADCASTS, 'Please note that all seaworthy plankings will be removed from the game, and all BFGs will be removed and refunded the other quest items. The item will be reintroduced later when the spawn bug is fixed.'

And nobody (afaik) had their planks removed, the piece that was actually bugged. I'm really curious what the merit of removing the limited number of completed BFGs is when you leave in the bugged piece (plank) that people abused into hoarding hundreds of.

Just a few questions for the powers that be...
Does the BFG hand-in currently work if people went and got a new wing/rope?
If someone got a new BFG would it be removed later also?
Will we actually get our refunded things from removed BFGs (seems more difficult now after the fact...)?
