Stein of ulissa

When i turned in all 4 quest items to vira tonight she didn't give me the stein of ulissa after reading up on it i realized i gave her a frost giant toe instead of a ice giant toe. But i was told that even if i gave the wrong item she would give back the items so that i can finish the quest.

npcs do not return items they do not need.
