Default Can the EQ client to use the newer graphics on this server?

Hello everyone! I missed the EQ train back in early days of MMO's. I am happy that now I get to step in the time machine and play on this server.

I do just have one question. Other then turning down the resolution of the game, is there a way to have the textures look smoother for the EQ client. Better yet is there a way to tell the EQ client to use the newer EQ graphics on this server?

The reason I am asking this, while the old school graphics are charming it isn't easy on my eyes. Staring at the pix-elated textures for a few hours tends to hurt my eyes.

If not then I will try to find another way to live with it. Anyways, keep up the good work!

It definitely upgrades a lot of the textures, but not all of them, so occasionally you'll get a zone with half changed half not changed (maybe that's just me?). But in general, it looks great.

Mine? I set some of it to size 1 and it looks tiny to me [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Or the big smack talk?

That worked! Thank you now I won't go blind by looking at the blurry textures. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

This game looks ok with highres textures and shadows. It would look even better if objects (trees, buildings) casted shadows and metal gleamed in the sunlight. The water looks pretty lame when it's old school. The newer water is ok.

Also... the shadows don't really work. They go through objects and can appear multiple times.
