Default Best melee soloer that doesn't pull?

I've been playing a monk for a while now and while I love that I can solo very well, I feel like I've been avoiding groups because monks are the defacto pullers and I don't really enjoy pulling. In fact I hate it!

I'm pretty sure I am going to reroll to either a SK or a Ranger since they seem to be the only other melee classes that can solo if needed but won't be required to pull for groups. Which of these would be the better soloer? I know both classes have quite a few bag of tricks and that is appealing to me as well. I plan on grouping when possible but my schedule often doesn't allow it.

Default Not an SK

You will be the #2 choice for puller right behind a monk.

Bard, if you want to consider that melee since they wield weapons, but a lot of their soloing is song based. But they are great pullers, so you may be expected to pull at some point in groups.

Rangers can solo, but if you are grouped in an outdoor zone, you will be expected to pull with harmony or at least assist with pulling.

SK has FD, will be expected to pull depending on group make up.

Do you have a plat for a big twink package? Can solo to some effect as warrior or rogue. Buy lots of bandages or find a friendly mage. Depending on group make up, warrior or rogue may pull in some situations.

Bards make great pullers, but are often not asked to (maybe from ppl not knowing they can pull), and they are also great at soloing. Fear kite, charming, swarming, etc.

ranger if you are not interested in singing and running around as a bard

with velious ranger can fear/snare animals for low mana cost to solo fear kite. now that the hybrid xp penalty is gone, its a good time to consider it

edit: once in a while you'll be asked to pull as a ranger, but those rare moments offer great chances for you to level up your bow skill, and the huge range of a good bow makes pulling much easier. so you could also look at this question as 'what is the most painless to pull with?.' between ranger and sk, its perma sow + sheer range versus sk's ability to feign death if things go poorly

id go ranger but im biased because i love the class and never played an sk

There are no solo melee classes that won't ever be expected to pull :/ SK, ranger and bard all dbl as pullers. Paladins can pull very well too with lull, but in the presence of one of those other 4 classes will not be expected to do so. SK is probably the best fit for lowest priority puller while still being able to solo decently. Paladins can solo just fine, but it becomes painful 50+.

I'd expect ranger to be the better (compared to SK) solo artist now that panic animal is in at 22 for them, but generally prefer them as pullers outdoors ^^

Just bring a bag of clickies, a robe and equip a couple of books whenever they ask you to pull and say you're not really a monk, but a wizard.
