Uhh...can't you reverse engineer the "client"?

Emulators of consoles exist, what is the problem exactly?

Can a programmer explain the hurdles to me to get a playstation game reversed?

It was 99% different, with only a basis on the classic world.

Like Everfrost, Freeport, etc type stuff, but different. I'd go so far as to say, it was entirely different with not much similarity.

Kelethin looked ridiculous on it and put me off trying it when it was actually new.

its no more the same as eq is to eq 2. They both have the same names and stuff but it just looks different. EQOA does have quite a cult following though.

It's all the people who didn't have computers and experience EQ live when it was happening. Console kids are the worst.

Seems like there's someone actively working on an emu for it:

http://wiki.eqoarevival.com/index.php/Roadmap

I don't get the impression they have live captures from EQOA so it'll be a cast iron bitch to figure out what the server was doing and reverse engineer it.

Regards,
Mg
