Default Shaman pet 34 vs 39

I am not even sure its a bug, but...

When I was level 38 and close to 39. My pets (companions spirit gained at level 34) were mostly green and lightblue.

Then I dinged and scribed my lvl 39 pet and summoned it and my first new pet was green.

I continued to resummon pets in the hope of getting a blue one, but it didn't happen. I only had green and lightblue pets.

Obviuosly this is not a proof that something is wrong, but I am wondering. What is the difference between the level 34 and 39 shaman pet spell. If indeed there is a difference?

Nah dude, for the first few levels after 34 you can summon dark blue ones.

When I was soloing 34-50 on my Shaman, regardless of the pet con, it kicked ass. Give it two fine steel short swords and see the numbers rock.

This probably isn't a discussion for the bug forum, but I'm pretty sure pets don't inherit weapon damage/delay, so giving them fine steel short swords would do nothing except possibly negate their natural magic attack (assuming they're high enough to dual wield without being given weapons, which shaman pets should be).

You'll notice that you gain 5 levels and your pet falls behind. This is why they turn light blue or green.

Weapons do not affect shaman pets for dmg/dly ever, and no procs until IIRC PoP with the mage summoned pet only stuff. I could be wrong about that, but I've never tried or heard of a shaman pet with gnoll lariats.

They cannot Dual Wield ever.

Weapons and procs (on droppable weapons) are working on shaman pets also.

Interesting.

So you've given a shaman pet a proc'ing weapon and it worked?

While i was hanging around in Najena i gave my pet tentacle lifetap whips, the proc was working. The Animation looked kinda funny [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

If you give him a non procing weapon the damage message also chances from Zobober bites mob xy for... to slash... for example on swords.

When i was leveling my pet always had lariats, they do proc, and if you give them 2 weapons they will dual wield.

The level 49 pet also dual wields naturally

edit:

To the OP: I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think you can still get a DB pet until mid 40s or so
