What does ATK do?
If I am in wolf form from a Druid, it says it increases my ATK by 30. Just wondering what it actually does.

For a druid nothing really, it increases your attack which makes you melee for a little higher damage than you would normally.

It gives you 10 attack which is pretty minimal. Better than nothing though I guess.
Grim Aura Surrounds you in a dark aura, increasing your attack rating for 9.0 mins @L3 to 27.0 mins @L9. Classes Shadow Knight - Level 22 Necromancer - Level 4 Details 1 : Increase ATK by 7 (L4) to 10 (L10)

Well I am leveling up a Druid, never played one, and saw the share wolf form spell increases ATK. I assume it's worth casting on any group. Is it outdoors only?

Druid wolf form is good for three things:
1) Running faster 2) Casting on real melee to up their ATK 3) Terrorizing caster group members who hate wolf form Edit: Yes, outdoor only (like sow).

In order to understand atk you need to understand how combat works, when dmg is getting mitigated there is a roll of mitigation vs atk and the higher your atk roll is over the mitigation roll determines which dmg interval will be chosen for dmg

Your also forgetting wolf form is useful for the faction changes that comes with it, as for the atk bonus wolf form gives I believe it is highly underrated on this server, an extra 30 to the entire groups atk rating would surely show some significant results over time in a parse vs blue or maybe even white con mobs at least, but most likely would have little impact against yellows and reds due to their higher ac vs your atk rating that 30 wouldn't do much

When I played a rogue, everyone was nuts for STR. ATK was where it was at, though. True, STR adds to ATK at 1:1, but for whatever reason, it doesn't seem to be as potent as ATK from buffs like wolf form, garou, grim aura, avatar, etc. There weren't many worn +ATK items within my reach, but I made sure to get all that I could - and I believe it was worth the effort.
