Default New. Pet Commands Disabled?

Hi Gang,

This is likely something simple. Level 3 enchanter. Glad to have a pet hanging out with me. I can't seem to issue commands. The buttons on the pet window are all disabled (except for "Go Away") and my social macro, /pet attack (I've also tried /pet attack %t just in case), doesn't elicit a response.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Your summoned pet will only defend you if you get attacked, or itself if it gets attacked.

When you charm a mob, you have full use of your pet window.

Ahhhh! Thank you kindly. I did some research but the directions seemed to lump all the pet instructions together. This demystifies nicely.

Thanks again!

chanter pet are notoriously bad, but it's mainly for the lack of control... that's fine to solo at lower level... and once you can charm effectively there's almost no reason to use animations...

Just a clarification for the new - other summoned pets don't behave in this way. This is a limitation of enchanter animations only. (They're powerful enough without getting access to a summonable, controllable pet, was probably the logic.)
