Bard Duo

A friend of mine is starting to play soon and until he gets into his 30s and can group with my necro I was planning to make an alt to play with him. I wanted to start a Shaman as an alt for a while but I wasn't sure how this would work out with a bard. Do we need someone that can tank/ melee in order to duo or would a shammy suffice? What would be the ideal class to complement a bard to get him leveled fastest?

Bards compliment just about everyone eventually. Early on they support melee better, in the 20s they start getting mana buffs (thanks velious), fear kiting capabilities, and resist debuffs.

I would think sham/nec benefit the most as bards provide both hp and mana regen.

That sounds pretty good then since my main is a necro and I've been wanting to start a shaman alt at some point. I'll let him know he picked a good class for me.
