Question IP restriction questions

how long do the devs usually take to remove IP restrictions? im trying to get my wife into the game as a fun thing for us to do after our kid hits the sack. we both have requested they lift the restriction b/c we are not boxing there are 2 pc's and 2 people playing and i have heard NADA back. was wondering if anyone else knows how long it generally takes. is it even worth my time to ask? kinda frustrated that we have to choose who gets to play EQ and who gets to surf the internet.

Get a VPN or tether phone in the mean time.

That will land you in hot water. Don't take this advice.

im the wife in question. seriously weeks??? i know this is a free "service" and all, but... wow. do the GMs/mods just never play anymore? i know you dont like boxing and can understand that but this restriction is going to drive us to another server. we want to play together and this "rule" is pretty stupid IMO, especially when it takes "weeks" to get addressed. i could see 24-48hrs... maybe. m22 is going to be very disappointed that we cant spend the time doing stuff together.

There is three things you should do in order to successfully get your exemption.

1. Do not bump the request.
2. Do not make any more threads like this.
3. Do not use any VPN service to get both online.

I know it's frustrating and it can take a long time. Weeks, even. Our current information suggests that they get done in batches. When enough requests are made, they clean them out. There is no way of telling how long this will take.

For your and your wifes sake, just be patient and resist the urge to say anything about it on the forums. People have been denied and knocked back in the queue for such things.

Tupak is a solid member of this community who would never give out bad advice. Swish is just fearmongering. It's okay to take Tupakk's advice.

If the staff want to leave his and your comments there as legit advice then that's fine. I would think that would be in the IP exemption handbook if it was allowed, while waiting.

It has been state by staff a few times over the last year. I have no interest in digging that up as its deep in many different threads.

Genuine people waiting for IP exemptions will be fine. Someone abusing it will be caught. The fact that he made a public thread will give them an account and a way to see if they are both playing or not.

Common sense fam. *muah* Swish *muah*

Our IP Exemption took 5 weeks. We simply leveled solo from level one, one at a time. No biggie.

No it won't. Braknar confirmed in the p99 Discord chat a couple months ago that as long as you aren't doing anything illegal with the VPN (boxing,) you can use a VPN until your exemption goes though.

This is about the only useful piece of information that has come from the p99 Discord (no offense, Rogean.)
