Default Steelsilk Armor - How much does it go for?

I tried to find auctions for Steelsilk, I only see people buying and one guy selling but he didn't give a price on it.

Anyone have any idea how much people charge for steelsilk armors?

It's a good question. I don't know much about it, but if we could get answers to some questions, it would be possible to start evaluating the price of this awesome gear.

If I were to make you Steelsilk, here's how I would factor it:

For sake of example, let's look at the Imbued Steelsilk Breastplate (Quellious)

1) How many hours did it take to get enough Terrorantula Silk for a particular piece? 1k/hr is a pretty standard rate of plat gain from camps, and as this is a pretty nuanced camp, I would charge that much for the silk swatches.

For three swatches, that's 6 silk. I would estimate based on numbers pulled from my ass that it might average 3 hours of time spent waiting on the right conditions to spawn Terrorantula and getting him to drop enough silk. (if anyone has more accurate info on average rate of silk per hour, please let me know)

Price for Factor 1 = 3k

2) Getting together all the other little pieces. You need an enchanter to summon you the vial of mana. you need a cleric to imbue the topaz. Buying the items off a vendor. These are all pretty cheap, but again the maker should be valuating their time at around 1k/hr.

For the sake of ease, let's say it takes an hour for them to have collected all these items and hit the combine. But they could also have multiples prepared, cutting down the time per item, so let's say that these other materials run 500pp in cost of goods + prep time.

3) How much does a tailor value their skill on p99? 167 is pretty expensive to get to if I am correct. So they definitely deserve a premium for this skill (again, it's a vast amount of time they have sunk into the boring farming of mats and risking carpal tunnel).

If it were me, I would sell the bp for no less than 4.5k. I'd seek more like 5.5 to 6 given the quality of stats and the fact it can be slapped onto a level 1. Compounded by the fact that you're seeing a lot of Demand with very little Supply, it's possible to hike the price up even further.

Plat is easy to get. Terrorantula silk is not. Plat can be fun to farm. Tailoring skill is not.

Of course, those numbers are based off of total guesswork about how hard it is to get enough swatches, but just looking at the stats I would say it's totally worth it to drop that sort of plat.

If you are curious how much effort goes into making it, Expediency is probably the best person to ask. He assembled the server-first set of Imbued Steelsilk for his erudite paladin.

I have about 15-20k in my set of prexus steelsilk armor. I believe it could be made for about 8-10k if you did much work yourself. The rubies add up quick. I dont know what price difference if any woud apply to quellious. Any erudite who rolls quellious deserves banded anyway.

Ps: i highly recommend you contract the player "milkymilkycamel" from clue. He knows whats up

Plat is easy to get. Terrorantula silk is not.
Couldn't have said it better.
I see people occasionally killing the PHs, I've only seen the giant twice. Not sure on the exact science to getting it to spawn.
Probably a trade secret for those who know and they won't reveal it anytime soon.

Quellious vs Prexus in my example is unimportant, besides factoring in the extra hassle of having a cleric imbue the gems

Keep up the God Racism tho

Not bad assessment but the wiki info isnt 100% correct. To my knowledge nobody knows the exact values to do the combines. Terrorantula silk is not hard to come by if you are creative in looking for it. Finding erudite cleric of prexus to imbue is not easy... they tend to mostly go quellious for some reason. I messaged about 25 erudite clerics before one would do it for me and i had to buy a copy of the spell and bring it to him.

Armor looks fantastic.. 10/10 fashionquest. On my male paladin it is ocean blue and looks unique. On a female cleric it has a gold look similar to freeti armor but with more texture and a lighter color.

Fashion quest hikes up value another 10-20% folks! Also interesting to note the relative rarity of clerics.

Given the rarity of the pieces and their extreme fashion questyness I'd say you're looking at 15k for the bp and legs each, at the very least. I don't think I'd sell mine for less than that just because there's only like 2 people on the server that can make them.

As far as I know only Xaxian and Expediency can craft them.

Also, Enjamin is one of the few active Prexus worshipping erudite clerics I've come across (for anyone that needs to know).

Getting Terrorantula to spawn is pretty easy. I'll give you a hint. He's a spider.

Also, reroll Prexus.
