Gamma control won't work and Old Sky

Hi all, I was wondering why doesn't my Gamma Control work in-game? It works for a second but when I release the mouse button it appears it retains the normal desktop gamma/brightness. I was also wondering if I could get the old sky back as well? Any help much appreciated

1) Probably becuse you run in windowed mode and windows gamma is overwriting the values the game is setting

2) No, cant get old sky back.
