Not full screen, mouse flickers, disconnects when i join game

my screen isn't full. there is a gap at the bottom of the screen. My mouse flickers, I can't seem to talk to npc's and i disconnect after 5-10 mins. anyone know of any good performance optimizer programs for computer and wireless internet? plz help. I've been tryin to play for over 2 weeks now and i cant seem to get it to work. I would do anything to play, Im so excited about playing but so bummed that i can't.
