Game Mechanics: Rogue Poison

Currently after successfully applying a poison it works like any random proc would.

Successfully applied poisons should proc on the First landed melee hit.

earlier today I was in Solb and it took 3 mobs before my applied poison would proc, which is nice for the DD's but for the debuffs/dots its nice to be able to rely on that first hit.

I'm sure I can find a source to prove this if its required.

To poison a weapon you need a piercing one - they are the only ones who will actually be possible to poison - make it stick to your mouse and click it on the poison. You will get a "you have successfully applied the poison" or a "you failed to apply the poison" message. In case you failed, the poison is simply lost (WAAAAAA). If it worked, the poison will be applied to your primary weapon space and will go off as soon as you do a piercing attack (other than backstab). The poison attack is then checked against the poison resist value of the opponent (means: it can be resisted). As you poison your weapon you will sit down automatically and you have to stand up by yourself.

good one. i remember this from live as well, always went off 1st attack. this matters because it gives the rogue more control over the use of his poisons, so he can be strategic instead of just hoping it goes off at a good time.

also, once the poison went off, that was it. i don't know how you guys have it on p99, but i remember on live it was only good for that 1st hit, and you'd have to re-apply after that if you wanted to proc again.

It works like that, one hit wonder, but it acts like an ordinary proc. It doesn't go off on the first swing it goes off randomly.
