![]() Hi guys I’m thinking of coming back to try out green! Only thing now I just moved and realized I can only get Viasat 25mbps Internet 🙁.
Anyone else have this type of internet, if so how is it with p99? Thanks!

![]() Expect a 500-900ms ping. It will sort of be playable I guess.

![]() ive played with 3000ms ping on sat internet.
It aint pretty. But it's doable if you're not doing risky shit, and never enter a zone with a lot of moving npc's like ring war GD, WK, traks teeth etc.

![]() Are you sure you can't get a 4g internet dongle for gaming? Is there no phone coverage at all? It will be vastly superior to satellite.

I once played p99 on satellite internet that's signal was across a lake. My latency was high but it was playable. I farmed sea furies even.

![]() Jesus, that really does start to sound classic. Late 90s satellite was the fastest downpipe you could get, but it was one-way of course- used dialup for upstream. I remember an acquaintance at school, circa 1996, maybe early '97, insisting he was going to set up a web server at home. I told him he was crazy, where was he going to get that kind of bandwidth? He tells me he's going to use satellite. I tell him "Dude, you know that servers need mostly upstream?" He shrugged.
That ping would be really tough to play with. If there is any cellular internet at all (or fixed wireless), do that. Hell, dialup should work for P99, as long as you don't let your computer using any other bandwidth at all. Remember that we used to play EQ on 28.8k and 36k modems. If you really have no choice, I highly recommend a mage; a late nuke isn't going to wipe you like a late heal, and fluffy will be controlled by the server so that DPS should be okay. DS on a tank isn't ping-sensitive either.
