![]() Playing on Green. I'm currently a level 6 halfling druid.
Level 1 spells are 1gp each, level 5 spells are 5gp 3sp or something, level 9 spells are 5pp each... I was on top of my game and acquired all of my level 1 spells (except a few I've had on other druids and have never used, I'm not interested in wasting money to have a complete spellbook at this time), bought only the necessities for lvl 5 (no low level AOEs), and wanted to start collecting lvl 9 spells.... but 5pp each? damn... that's a lot of rat whiskers and beetle legs.... about 10 trips back to town to sell after filling up my bags. Other than my spells I have purchased 2 backpacks, and some food and drink. I have 3 pieces of looted cloth armor and my noobie club. The whole point of this is I read a lot of "my [melee] class is very gear dependant, while a naked caster is basically the same just with less mana" etc., and I wanted to point out these crucial levels, where casters literally msut scrape every copper piece together to save for new spells. While the melee are probably already rocking full sets of visible armor already, I'm trying to save up all day for one spell that I can use 3 levels from now. That is all. ![]() Sounds like you’re leveling in the wrong place. Best newbie garden is Tox. The kobolds and skelies often carry rusty weapons which can be sold, and sometimes a cracked staff. By the time I was level 5 I had all my spells and a full set of leather. Then I moved to Blackburrow. Stayed there until 10 selling more rusty weapons and bows. Had enough to buy all my level 9 spells, but was still selective in order to save plat. Went to Unrest yard. Only looted the mushrooms (forgot the name but they are stackable and sell for 7gp ea) and pristine scarab shells (9gp each) and various cloth/raw hide that dropped. By level 14 I had enough plat to buy a full set of banded and all of my important level 14 spells.

![]() Don't let it get to you. Relax and enjoy the game is what I say. I'm in a similar boat as you. I've been steadily saving up and vendoring just about everything and my bank account sits at about 10pp.
I can understand how it's frustrating seeing people with large bank accounts so early on, but there's a lot of ways to make money beyond vendoring, look for quests that pay out coin, work on some trade skills (I make a profit by just collecting skins and making patchwork that I sell back to vendors) find what works for you. | ||

![]() If you're good aligned... bandit sashes! I hunted bandits in WK from 11-14 and walked away with all the level 14 spells I wanted and an extra 185pp to spare. Great money for the level!

![]() What is your character name? If you're in my neck of the woods I'll give you 50pp for spells, should cover you until you can easily earn your own coin.

![]() Go to -600, 400 in misty thicket. Start killing all the orc centurions which are level 2-4. Keep circling back to -600, 400 which is the location of the corkscrew shaped tree. Eventually youll have all the orcs spawning rapidly at that tree. 3 Spawns. Collect around 10-15 belts per hour. Turn in those deathfist belts to captain budo ONE AT A TIME for massive xp and 9 GP a turnin. Deputy Budo is found if you take a right past the wall opening and enter the first tower on the way back to rivervale

![]() I leveled 1-5 in Gfay on trash mobs. I learned quickly to ignore bats and focus on killing as many wasps and skeletons as I could. I would swarm wasps 4-5 at a time and then kill them all one by one because they sometimes dropped venom sacs that sell for 1 or 2 gold. Skeletons can drop weapons and cloth gear that also sells for a gold or so. That alone allowed me to buy all my lvl 1 and 5 spells with 4 bags and still had some PP left over as I started my trek for lvl 9 and those spells.
I did orc hill from 5-7 so I could load up on orc belts which sell for 1 pp each. Then I went to BB where I fought snakes who drop crap but then when I was high enough I switched to dwarf skeletons and giant scarabs because they drop decent sellables that can sell from 1-9 gold. Choose your mobs wisely and you should be able to afford all your spells. If you are grouping it might be tougher on you so make sure you loot your fair share of mobs. It's easy to forget to loot because your always medding between fights.
