Default Tooltips not working

When I first started playing a couple weeks ago I had working tooltips...then a few days ago they mysteriously stopped showing up. To be clear, I am NOT talking about the info box that pops up when you hold right mouse button down over a spell or item. Nor am I talking about the annoying tips window that you can shut off by clicking the box to never show it again. What I AM talking about are the little text tooltips that show up when you hover your mouse over a spell gem, item, buff, etc that displays the name of whatever you're hovering over, and in the case of buffs also gives the remaining duration. I tried a clean install and it had no effect. I scanned my ui files, checked google, checked my binds, and looked at the / commands to see if there was any way I could have turned them off accidentally and the option simply doesn't seem to exist which is why I believe it is a bug.

Hopefully we can get a fix for this...it's a pretty big pain to have to wait 2 seconds to find out what any given item is, not to mention not knowing when my buffs are going to drop or being able to see what the items are in the recipe window of a forge or sewing kit.

Controlled by client, nothing we can control.

Yeah I was afraid of that...makes no sense why they would stop showing up all of a sudden, so I'll have to do some more looking I guess.

Try backuping up then deleting/renaming eqclient.ini while EQ is not loaded, then load it up.

Can't believe I didn't try this first, but a full computer restart seems to have fixed this issue for me. Gogo trying the simple fixes last.
