Default Question about Wizard deity choice

I created a new wizard yesterday and selected Solusek Ro for my deity.

I thought that this was a cool deity backdrop for a "Power Hungry Wizard"

Usually I rolled "Agnostic" for casters, anything I should know about this deity choice? (i.e. KoS anywhere I may not expect?)

Thanks in advance! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Solusek Ro is a pretty good choice since it sets you up with good faction to do the Temple of Sol Ro quests but other than that there's really nothing more to it.

For power hungry wizard I would think agnostic would be the best choice considering you pay homage to no gods and you don't owe your powers to any god. The quest for knowledge is above all else.......

BTW, awesome avatar, thats from joe and mac right?

The one thing it does give you benefit of is being able to wear a ring made through a wizard only Imbue Fire Opal spell. I'm not sure when this comes into the game but the spells says it's purchasable off of Zordak Ragefire. I guess when those epic mobs are put in you'll be able to make it.

Ring: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=4730

I'm sure there are a few minor faction differences but I didn't play as Sol Ro on my wizard on live.

From a RP perspective (for whatever that's worth), its a sound choice for a wizard [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Glad it's going to do something for me.

And yes my avatar is indeed "Mac" from my favorite childhood SNES game [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Solusek all the way.
Not only are the rings nice, your boss turned the desert of Ro into a desert.
Bragging rights, imo.

Default Sol Ro

Best deity for wizards in game! That's my deity also as a wizard.

As an Erudite, I'm only KoS in Ogguk and Cabilis. As a human, you're KoS in Neriak I'd assume until you get faction up.

You can imbue fire opals once the spells comes into game and use that in crafting!

I've always played as an Agnostic Wizzie. I don't like having negative faction alignments, and unless your DE your faction is good enough everywhere to justify positive alignments [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

On EQLive, my Agnostic DE Wizzie in classic was able to go into freeport without having to work up faction (Dubious/Apprehensive), unlike those who chose Innoruuk (Not sure on Sol Ro's alignment, though).

I hear that DEs are hated there regardless of diety to start with on P1999.

I picked a Human Wizard this time around, Agnostic, hopefully to be able to go into Neriak to buy hate stones at some point :-p

My Dark Elf Wizard has Solusek Ro for his diety as well and it's never caused any problems. If anything it's probably helped some since Sol Ro is a little more neutral than Innoruuk. I'm still KoS in pretty much every good town so I'm not sure it's had any affect, but it may have some in certain places.
