Blue vs. Green restarting player advice

Hey there!

I just recently jumped back onto the EQ train of addiction and had a few questions about the differences between servers and their respective populations. My main issue is that I started a new champ on Green and was having a good time, got a few nice handouts from established players, but then I remembered my old login info from 10ish years ago. Unfortunately all of my old champs on that account are located on blue. So now I can't really decide which server to stick with or if it's even really a big deal considering that the two servers may be merged in the coming future... I know that green is the more "active" of the two, but I was just curious if blue still has a decent leveling and EC trading community? Also, and not to pressure the staff at all (I <3 u), but does anybody know if the old stated timeline of server merging / a new green is still a possibility for the first half of next year? As this would kind of make my issue a mute point. Thanks in advance.
